The Digital Fix tells us in a report that Jason Momoa, known for his role in DC Universe's Aquaman, is set to lead the cast of the upcoming Minecraft movie.

He is claimed to be playing the character Gabriel the Warrior, who appeared in the adventure game spin-off Minecraft: Story Mode. Momoa is the film's first and only confirmed actor, with no other names added to the cast as of September 2022.

After several director changes, the movie's director, Jared Hess, is confirmed. It is unclear if the film will take inspiration from the entire Minecraft universe or just specific parts.
