Since its release in 2019, Days Gone by Bend Studio has been the subject of much public discussion. While the game earned some positive reception upon launch, reports have circulated of its less-than-stellar Metacritic scores and Sony's rejection of a proposed sequel.

A New Game on the Horizon From Bend Studio: Speculation Abounds

According to the story by BoingBoing.net, it appears Bend Studio isn't dwelling on the past, as the studio recently took to Twitter to tease a brand-new game, with a full reveal expected tomorrow.

Although fans have hopes of a Days Gone 2, it's becoming increasingly clear that that's off the table. Former developers, such as Jeff Ross and John Garvin, have cited low scores and "woke" reviewers as reasons behind Sony's rejection of a sequel pitch.

As such, speculation currently abounds regarding Bend Studio's upcoming project. As yet, no hard details are known about Bend Studio's new game, other than its potential for a 24th of June reveal.

Speculation on Bend Studio's Upcoming Announcement

Twitter replies to the studio's teaser tweet are full of anticipation for the announcement, but for now fans can only guess as to what the game might be. Some have speculated a return to a more classic horror aesthetic, while others are hoping for the spiritual successor to Days Gone that the studio has allegedly been working on for some time.

As also reported by PlayStation Lifestyle, Days Gone was an iconic release for Sony's Bend Studio in 2019. The game's competency and satisfying central loop earned it a loyal fanbase, although not much else managed to stay players hooked.

Since then, Bend Studio has kept itself in the news recently with the release of the PC port, murmurs around the apparently cancelled sequel, and director Jeff Ross's "blaming wokeness" for its lukewarm reviews.

A Mysterious Tweet Teasing a New Title Under the PlayStation Studios Label

Now, fans of the studio's work are abuzz with a mysterious tweet teasing a new title under the PlayStation Studios label, with a reveal scheduled for the 24th. The short tweet hardly provides much in terms of clues as to what players might expect, but this is the first time Bend Studio has officially alluded to anything outside of job ads. As expected, the replies are filled with driven supporters hoping for a Days Gone sequel, but this isn't something likely to happen.
