It is nearly four years since the last elections took place, one which took place during the time of the pandemic, with technology already at the forefront via the machines that take in votes.

US to Test New Voting Technology Right Before the 2024 National Elections
The Public Radio reported that the Center for Internet Security (CIS), a nonprofit organization focused on improving the cybersecurity posture of organizations and individuals, has announced plans to launch a national testing program for new voting technology in preparation for the 2024 U.S. national election.
The program aims to rigorously assess the security and integrity of technologies central to the voting systems used in U.S. elections, to enhance trust and confidence in the electoral process.
With concerns about cybersecurity and election integrity becoming increasingly prominent, the CIS has taken the initiative to develop a comprehensive testing program to evaluate the security of new voting technologies. The voluntary program is set to launch by September 2023, well ahead of the 2024 national election, to provide ample time for testing and implementation of any necessary improvements.

However, one of the most controversial things from the past centered on election violence, where companies like Facebook, Twitter, and more are looking into banning posts regarding "militarized language," fake news, and misinformation online.
