Every mainline Pokemon game has a gimmick starting with "Pokemon Gold and Silver," which pioneered the use of held items. Meanwhile, "Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire" first featured double battles while "Pokemon Diamond and Pearl" introduced Online Play.

"Pokemon Black and White" welcomed triple and rotational battles, while "Pokemon X and Y" brought Mega Evolutions. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" presented Z-Moves, and "Pokemon Sword and Shield" allowed players to use Dynamixing/Gigantamixing.

The latest installment, "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet," introduced terastalization, but before that, fans were more interested in the Paradox forms of selected species.

While there are a handful of Paradox ancient and future forms available in the game, some fans created their own version while waiting for the DLC. One of them shared his own take on Sharpedo's Paradox version.

A fan has created a Paradox Sharpedo based on helicoprion which he called "Iron Saw."

Paradox forms can be either an ancient or future form of a Pokemon in Paldea. For instance, Scream Tail is a predecessor of the current Jigglypuff. In some cases, the present Pokemon can have two Paradox forms, like in the case of Donphan, which has Iron Treads (future form) and Great Tusk (ancient form).

The concept of Paradox lies in a specific time frame and design. The ancient Paradox forms are more prehistorically-looking creatures, while the future forms feature a more robotic side of a Pokemon.

According to Gamerant, a Redditor named El-psy-congroo-01 came up with a brilliant illustration of Sharpedo's Paradox form from the future.

Since everyone is still hyped up for the upcoming DLC, many players think that Nintendo will bring more Paradox a few months from now.

The regular Sharpedo is a Water/Dark Pokemon that is described as a living torpedo underwater. It's one of the trademarks of Team Aqua from the Hoenn region.

With the Paradox form becoming a staple of "Pokemon Scarlet and Violet," the fan imagined Sharpedo as a robotic fish with a shredder in its mouth.

Having said that, he incorporated a more steely look for "Iron Saw'' who is now a Steel/Water-type Pokemon. The yellow color of its fins complemented its roguish face, which became even more mechanical.

The Reddit user retained the shiny version of this Paradox Pokemon by using the same metallic colors all over its body.

Paradox Sharpedo Inspiration

The creator also shared that the future Sharpedo Paradox is based on the helicoprion, which is a shark-like species of cartilaginous fish during the Artinkisan Age of the Permian Period.

Its weird mouth resembles a strange tooth arrangement that is designed to catch soft-bodied prey. The experts used to call its teeth "tooth whorls" because of their structure.

Did TPC Overdo Paradox Forms?

According to a discussion thread on GameFaqs, some fans think that The Pokemon Company overdid the concept of the Paradox forms.

One user said that Mega Scizor and Mega Sharpedo already looked like their Paradox evolutions. He called the Paradox shark "Big Jaws'' and "Sharp Teeth." According to him, Scyther's evolved form can get "Iron Claws" as its Paradox name.
