A TikTok travel influencer recently divulged her terrifying experience on an Emirates trip, which she called the "worst flight" of her life when her gluten-free onboard dinner unintentionally included a croissant containing gluten, which led to the incident.

Chloe Chapdelaine described the experience in an emotional TikTok video published on June 5 and said she has been eating gluten-free for over 10 years. She was told the croissant she was given was gluten-free but found out it was not afterward, Insider reported.

The 25-year-old Canadian influencer from Alberta tried to make herself throw up in the aircraft bathroom to eliminate any probable gluten sensitivity symptoms. She described the uncomfortable incident and her fight to avoid panic attacks during the flight from Dubai to Los Angeles, which took 15 hours.

In the TikTok clip, Chapdelaine addressed the crucial nature of the celiac illness, a gluten sensitivity. She thought ailments like celiac disease needed to be considered on an equal footing with nut sensitivities.

Chloe Chapdelaine is very sensitive to gluten; even "trace amounts or cross-contamination" may cause serious responses. In an interview with Kennedy News, she discussed her anxiety after discovering she had eaten a sizable chunk of a non-gluten-free croissant.

For the TikTok travel influencer, the consequences of ingesting gluten were practically instantaneous, leading her to induce vomiting to limit additional harm. She spent approximately an hour in the bathroom recovering from the ordeal's physical and mental toll, according to New York Post.

Users Support Chapdelaine

The TikTok video posted by Chloe Chapdelaine soon gained 2 million views. Several users expressed sympathy for her situation.

User kathlynn said, "People downplaying celiac disease don't get it. I wish I could hug you, girly. I hope you're managing okay. I would have done the exact same thing."

TikTok user Jamie shared a similar nightmarish experience: "You know. I took a 16hr flight to Australia, and @Air Canada "forgot" my gluten-free meal after delaying me for 24 hours. I cried like this."

Another user commented that the same mishap happened to her during a 14-hour solo trip. "Spent half the flight essentially on the toilet non-stop puking," said Ally.

Falling_sparks reacted: "To everyone saying she should have packed her food, was she supposed to eat snacks the entire flight?"

Emirate Reacts To The Viral Video

After the upsetting event, Chloe Chapdelaine contacted Emirates' Customer Affairs department to get answers.

The concerned airline, Emirates, responded to the incident and expressed that it is "dissapointed to hear" the TikTok star's experience, per LAD Bible. The airline stressed its dedication to customer satisfaction by providing customized meals to meet passengers' medical, nutritional, and religious demands. The company also guaranteed safety and health on their flights.

Emirates said that they are looking investigating the situation.
