Saber Interactive has announced that the upcoming arcade football game "Wild Card Football" will debut on Nintendo Switch soon.

Wild Card Football boasts an impressive roster of real-life football players including popular names like Jalen Hurts and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Although the game includes real NFL players, it offers a unique take on the sport and does not feature official NFL teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs or the Minnesota Vikings.

According to Nintendo Life, "Wild Card Football" allows players to create their own customized seven-on-seven teams, giving them the freedom to design their ideal squad in a playful and imaginative style.

The gameplay is reminiscent of classic arcade football games like NFL Blitz, offering fast-paced and exhilarating action. Players can utilize special Wild Cards that grant unique powers, such as super strength or invisibility, adding an extra layer of excitement to the matches.

The game also offers various playing options, including season play, local multiplayer, and online multiplayer with full crossplay functionality.

You can use more than 150 Wild Cards that will dictate your victory against your opponents.

Aside from that, you can customize your squad by creating your team logo. It works as if you're a manager in your franchise since you can also choose what playbook to play and what home stadium is perfect for the team.

Colin Kaepernick as 'Wild Card Football' Cover

Colin Kaepernick's inclusion in Wild Card Football is a surprise highlight of the game. While he hasn't played in the league since 2016, Kaepernick has made significant contributions as a social activist. His decision to kneel during the national anthem to protest police violence against Black individuals sparked nationwide conversations on racial injustice.

Despite his absence from the NFL, Kaepernick's impact resonates to this day. His appearance in recent versions of Madden NFL, another popular football game, and now in Wild Card Football, provides a refreshing opportunity for fans to see him on the virtual gridiron.

In a recent interview with IGN, Kaepernick expressed his enthusiasm about being featured in a football game after he departed from the NFL. He highlighted the unique aspect of seeing players' faces, which is not a common feature in traditional football video games where helmets often obscure identities.

"My love for football hasn't changed even if the politics of specific organizations... is complex," he told the publication.
