Baldur's Gate is finally getting its third edition through Baldur's Gate 3 which is expected to release soon. Finally, a date has been released for PC and Sony's PS5 console with no definitive date for Microsoft's Xbox.

Baldur's Gate 3 Set to Release on PC and PS5 with No Date for Xbox

According to the story by Digital Trends, it was noted that Baldur's Gate 3 is set to release on the PC this August 3 with the PS5 following on September 6. As for the Xbox, there has still not yet been any confirmed date as of press time.

The sequel reportedly looks like a sequel to what was described as one of the most popular Dungeons & Dragons spinoffs that a lot of people have been looking forward to. This means the addition of deep character customization, better decision-making options, and more tactical combat that remains turn-based.

It was noted that despite players following the early access version of the title or who are just waiting for the final product, the new title is expected to perform well due to the many additions its supposed to add to the game.

PC Version to Require 80 GB but 150 GB of Space is Still Recommended

As for the file size, Michael Douse, the Director of Publishing for Baldur's Gate 3, said that the game would only be taking up 80 GB. This was despite earlier statements by Larian Studios which noted that players would need to have 150 GB of free space.

However, players were still recommended to have 150 GB at least in order for players to still enjoy the game much better. This was with regards to the PC version as the total memory for the PS5 version remains unknown.

When it comes to the preload options, nothing has been announced yet for Baldur's Gate 3 for both the PC as well as the PS5. However, the article by Digital Trends notes that they know that the people who preorder the Digital Deluxe Edition would be given a 72-hour early access to the game's Act 1 on the PS5 version.

PC Version of the Game Would Not Include the 72-Hour Head Start Players Would Get on the PS5

This meant that preloads could be done sometime before that particular period. It was also noted that the PC version of the game would not include the 72-hour head start that players can get when they try the game on the PS5.

It was also recently noted that Baldur's Gate 3 is finally available for players to preorder as the base game with the Digital Deluxe Edition only available on the PS5. When it came to the Collector's Edition, which buyers can get through the official store, the title would be available on both PC and PS5.

Fans will have to wait and see as to whether the game will still launch for the Xbox and when it might launch. So far, gamers will still be able to enjoy the title on either PC or their PS5 devices.
