Real Kosher Ice Cream has recalled its own Soft Serve On The Go 8-oz sorbet and ice cream cups following Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) probe about their connection to listeria contamination.

Following an initial investigation by FDA, Real Kosher Ice Cream immediately encouraged consumers to refrain from eating Soft Serve On the GO cups. The announcement came after two people have been hospitalized because of listeria.

According to TODAY, two people from New York and Pennsylvania reportedly got sick after eating Soft Serve On the GO vanilla chocolate ice cream.

As a follow-up to the case, the Department of Agriculture of Pennsylvania gathered some samples of the product from the sick person. According to the FDA, the ice cream was tested for Listeria monocytogenes.

As of writing, authorities are finding some answers if the same listeria strain which caused the outbreak is connected to the strain obtained from Real Kosher ice cream cups.

Real Kosher Ice Cream Products You Should Avoid Eating

As per FDA's advisory, Real Kosher's Soft Serve On The Go Cups was made available in the following states: CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, IL, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, VA, and WV.

Additionally, the recalled products have already made their way through canteens, convenience, and grocery stores.

To be specific, the affected product is contained in a clear plastic cup that measures 8 fl oz. It's a typical soft serve cup you can see everywhere. It has a spoon and a sealed plastic lid.

Below are the Soft Serve On The Go cups that are said to be linked to listeria contamination. Real Kosher Ice Cream temporarily stopped the production of the products in 20 states.

It should be noted that the recalled products are produced up to August 4, 2023.

Health Problems Associated With Listeria

According to the Food Poison Journal, listeria monocytogenes are proven to be fatal mostly in young children and elderly people. Those who have a weak immune system are also common targets of the strain.

Furthermore, if you have consumed Real Kosher's soft serve ice cream, you might experience abdominal pain, stiffness, severe headache, high fever, and nausea as short-term symptoms.

Pregnant women who could likely get infected by listeria could suffer from stillbirths and miscarriages.

According to the FDA, more extreme forms of listeriosis can take up to three months before you notice the symptoms.
