As the tech world eagerly awaits Apple's "Wonderlust" event, where the curtain is set to rise on the new iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Series 9, there's been a twist in the tale.

Ming-Chi Kuo, a popular tech leaker, has dropped the latest bomb about the Cupertino giant's plans this year. According to the analyst, new iPad models might not make an appearance until 2024.

Tech tipster Ming-Chi Kuo announced that Apple is unlikely to introduce new iPad models before 2023 ends.

Just last week, Ming-Chi Kuo shared insights indicating that the arrival of new MacBooks was postponed until next year.

With the exception of a potential iMac refresh, Apple's hardware lineup for the remainder of this year seemed under wraps. However, the expectation was that an October event would introduce the initial wave of M3 Apple Silicon Macs and perhaps an upgraded iPad Air, MacRumors reports.

Fast forward to today, and both Kuo and Bloomberg's tech authority, Mark Gurman, are singing a different tune. It appears that the prospects of an October event have dimmed.

Well, primarily because the launch of the new Macs is no longer slated for fall 2023. Instead, we're looking at a delay until spring next year.

What About the iPad Air Update?

With regards to the iPad Air update, Gurman previously hinted that it was on track, set to be announced via a press release. However, Kuo's latest statement casts doubt even on this schedule. It's becoming clear that Apple might be readjusting its strategy for the latter part of 2023.

Kuo's earlier prediction indicated that there might not be any new MacBook models sporting M3-series chips this year.

All in all, following the "Wonderlust" event, which will unveil the iPhone 15 lineup, Apple's product releases for the rest of 2023 could be dwindling.

While Apple's decision to delay iPad launches until 2024 might disappoint some, it's important to remember that the tech giant's meticulous approach to product launches ensures that when these devices do arrive, they're worth the wait.

9to5Mac attached the tweet that Kuo posted on his X account recently.

Until then, all eyes are on the "Wonderlust" event, where Apple is sure to dazzle us with its latest innovations.

Is There a Foldable iPad Coming Next Year?

Kuo has buried the possibility of Apple releasing the 2023 iPads which means that even the other variants of the tablets are not expected to arrive in the next few months.

Earlier this year, Tech Times reported that Kuo hinted about the foldable iPad's launch. The leaker said that it could be launched in 2024.

This particular iPad will sport a carbon fiber support frame that will give it a lighter, but more durable feel.

In the same report, another rumor pointed to the release of the MacBook Pro in 2026. The premium tablet will feature OLED displays.
