In a surprising move by one of the most famous soda companies in the world, Coca-Cola introduced a new flavor called Y3000, and it is the company's latest limited-edition flavor. However, the most significant twist here is with Coca-Cola asking a generative AI to dictate the recipe to them, with the company using artificial intelligence's suggestion on what to put on the drink.

The latest drink from Coca-Cola may be taken from the Year 3000, but it is available now for a limited time only, with other elements also taking something from AI.

Coca-Cola has introduced a new flavor from its wide range of sodas, and this limited-edition drink was made using generative AI, with the company employing the help of the technology for this latest product. The company is calling this the Y3000, and they regard it to be "from the future," centering on the unique taste of the drink and the design of its containers. 

According to Coca-Cola, "The 'Real Magic' brand platform celebrates unexpected connections that make the ordinary extraordinary, so we intentionally brought human intelligence and AI together for an uplifting expression of what Coca‑Cola believes tomorrow will bring," said Oana Vlad, Senior Director, Global Strategy, The Coca‑Cola Company.

It is also regarded that its design for the cans and bottles came from generative AI.

AI's Limited Edition Flavor: How Does it Taste?

Coca-Cola claims that the Y3000 flavor features two versions, the Regular and the Zero sugar, best known for being the two stellar offers from the company. 

Reviews from the internet claimed that the Y3000 tastes like "raspberry slushy," but it still depends on who gets to taste it based on their perception of the drink.

Generative AI in the World Now

AI has a love-and-hate relationship in the world now, and this is because there are people who are torn in supporting the advanced technology, and some are still not open to what it has to bring for all. While other artists go against AI with back-to-back lawsuits, some artists are now defending generative AI in an open letter, believing that these tools are "empowering and expressive."

However, it is not only in the online media or tech world that generative AI has penetrated, as the technology is now stretching its reach to everyday work or household chores. One example is the latest culinary app from the South Korean tech giant, calling it "Samsung Food," with the app featuring as many as 160,000 recipes available to use for cooking. 

The Soda wars in the country are massive, as many top companies are looking to bring revolutionary offers to the public, all while maintaining what they have to offer and delivering for all. Now, Coca-Cola has embraced the future and welcomed a flavor from it, using generative AI to help them craft their recipe for Y3000, and also using the tech to create the art found on its can.
