When you are looking for new projects and challenges to play together and have fun with a friend, then you can go in the direction of realism and thoughtful action, which only expands in its capabilities if there is a faithful ally nearby who will cover and help.

Escape from Tarkov is ideal for playing in teams and together. This makes it easier to get equipment and ammunition, destroy bandits and enemies, and constantly improve your equipment. Sometimes you can buy Tarkov roubles if you suddenly lose all your equipment, or you want to significantly increase your capabilities.

Dive into the story

Tarkov is a separate area in a fictional territory for which the United States and Russia are fighting, but in order not to turn the conflict into the status of a world war, private military companies on both sides and representatives of special forces operate on the lands.

You must choose your side and start participating in local events and military clashes without the use of technology.

Game start and side selection

In fact, according to the general plot, there is not much difference between the chosen side, since you decide solely on the level of internal feelings and sympathies.

But there are differences, and they lie in military affiliation, this is the difference:

  • In uniform and weapons - Terra uses NATO uniforms and American weaponry. BEAR is wielding an AK and wearing a Russian uniform.

  • In the language of communication - all negotiations will be conducted by soldiers in English or Russian.

  • In money that is used to earn and process orders and interact with NPC.

Start of the game and project features

There are a few important things you need to know about Escape from Tarkov when starting the game.

  1. You get starting equipment, to put it mildly, not of the best quality, and in order to improve it, you need to do combat sorties.

  2. Killing opponents will allow you to collect all uninsured equipment from them. This means that you, in case of death, risk losing valuable items, so either put them in the warehouse, or weigh all the risks and plan routes with a partner to avoid fights.

  3. You can invest in property insurance and keep it in case of death.

  4. You can rent a wild character for combat missions and the extraction of property and resources. We will discuss the general mechanics a little later.

  5. You need to get to know and interact with the NPCs and complete their tasks in order to progress in their loyalty and get more benefits for buying and selling various equipment and weapons.

  6. Look for laboratory cards - this is access to a unique zone with rare rewards, it can be randomly found anywhere on the map at the resource collection point.

What you need to know about combat sorties

Regardless of whether you use a wild character or the main character, the general principles of the sortie do not change.

You will have a physical map in your hands with a description of the territories, but there will be no accompanying interface. This means that you will act as a real scout and will have to navigate in the forest and on the territory using landmarks and remember the places of entry to and exit from the location.

When you and your partner enter the territory, you should be aware that bandits and representatives of enemy PMCs will meet there, so proceed carefully, cover each other and scout the area and resource collection points before approaching it.

You must not only find valuable items, but also take them to the evacuation zone, for delivery to the warehouse, or for sale to the NPC.

If you wish, you can also order a paid evacuation, which is much faster and does not require sending to special exit points, but it is not instant.

What to look for and collect

A lot of various military equipment and things are scattered throughout the territory of Tarkov - echoes of the former peaceful life. In fact, even decor items have their value, as they can be bought by a nurse.

What you should pay attention to:

  • Weapons and ammunition - especially ammunition for rifles and automatic weapons. Pistols won't help you much.

  • Medicines - often, in difficult and massive firefights, you will have a high chance of getting injured, so find and use first-aid kits and other medicines, and make up the excess, or oversupply, or sell it to the nurse.

  • Accessories - for each weapon, there are different variations of additional equipment. These are sights of various degrees of approximation, of which it is desirable to have at least two in order to switch to medium and short distances. This also includes fire stabilizers, a stock, an additional magazine, or a collimator.

  • Grenades are an extremely important attribute of every fighter and the ability to combine your fight when playing with a partner. For example, while one throws a grenade, the second suppresses the enemy with fire and the enemy will have two options, either run out on bullets, or stay in place and die from shrapnel, or be wounded. The second type of grenades are smoke grenades. They will help you approach the enemy, or vice versa, get out of the battle with a high degree of probability.

Tactics of pair actions

You'll be entering a combat area that's full of enemies and bandits, so it's crucial to stick to cover and rally tactics only when you're secure.

For this, a corner and shelter are taken for one fighter and providing the second with complete freedom of action. If you are headlong just hunting for resources, then you risk dying together, without even deciding who goes with a rifle and who gets a submachine gun.

Wild character

You and your partner can rent a wild character to enter the danger zone and extract resources without risking your main equipment.

A wild character is a bandit who is immune to similar characters throughout the territory of Tarkov, and other PMCs should not attack him if they do not want to lower their loyalty with the merchant faction.

There is a nuance in this scheme - you, in the status of a wild one, can attack PMCs, and then they will be able to shoot back. If you kill them, you will gain prestige and be able to collect their equipment and even take it to a peaceful territory for sale.

You will be given your own equipment for the wild, which, to put it mildly, does not differ in quality - rusty weapons, bad cartridges with a frequent wedge, but in fact it doesn't matter to you - after all, your task is to find as many resources and ammunition as possible and bring them to peaceful territory without the need to engage with someone in battle.

By increasing trust with the faction of merchants, your equipment will drastically improve for a wild character.
