Revolve Air, a cutting-edge wheelchair for travel that collapses to fit within a carry-on bag, is now available for presale on Kickstarter.

This innovative mobility solution by Andrea Mocellin costs $4,999 for Kickstarter backers despite having a projected retail price of $7,500, TechCrunch reported. However, the ultimate retail price may change depending on the crowdfunding campaign's success.

Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter, expressed his excitement for Revolve Air's debut while promoting the company as one of the Battlefield 200 finalists. The Revolve Air wheelchair stands out for its outstanding folding design and draws attention to its cutting-edge approach to mobility.

The Advantages of Revolve Air Wheelchair

Revolve Air stands out because it has foldable wheels, uncommon in wheelchairs. From his experience with Ferrari and Maserati, Mocellin developed this breakthrough idea. Mobility was already a major concern for him because he was formerly the main designer at the electric jet manufacturer Lilium.

The wheelchair designed for ease of travel was the result of Mocellin's quest to redesign the wheel. By providing riders with a small wheelchair that fits within a cabin, Revolve Air aims to end this inconvenience.

Revolve Air tckles a fundamental issue wheelchair users face: the possibility that airlines might harm wheelchairs while in transit, per The Index Project. With Revolve Air, people can travel confidently since their wheelchairs will follow them the entire way, negating the need for transfers to other chairs or help at the airport.

Travel is one of the most difficult elements of life for those who use wheelchairs; having to check their devices into the cargo hold causes stress and jeopardizes their sense of dignity. Revolve Air provides a solution to the issue of misplaced or broken wheelchairs, making sure that people have continuous access to their wheelchairs during their whole voyage and doing away with the necessity for early arrivals or airline help.

With 12,000 requests received during the pre-crowdfunding campaign, the response to Revolve Air has been extremely favorable. Early interest signals ensured that backers would receive a discount when Kickstarter launched. Revolve Mobility seeks to disrupt the disability tech sector by using Kickstarter as a sales platform, making it easier for customers to buy cutting-edge solutions directly.

All-Praises an Innovative Product

Andrea Mocellin launched Revolve Air on February 9, 2021, after three years of autonomous development. The idea soon attracted worldwide notice and praise from the wheelchair-using community, winning the Travel Ability Summit's Audience Award. Revolve Air received over 1,500 requests for testing and purchases within weeks of its release.

Revolve-Wheel and DEXET Technologies joined forces in March 2021 to make the transition from working prototypes to a finished product. Mechanical engineering is DEXET's area of expertise, especially for Formula One and high-performance car projects, according to Newz Hook.

For its unique design, Revolve Air won the Red Dot Design Award 2021, Like Ventures' Innovation Award, and VIVA Technology 2021, Europe's largest startup and innovation event. Revolve now participates in initiatives, including the Toyota Accelerator Bootcamp, the Mobility Lab in the Netherlands, and the Allianz Accelerator Program in Nice, France.
