The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports a 4.2 percent increase in COVID-19-related deaths for October, totaling more than a million deaths - very alarming statistics.

Thanks to a $600 million investment from the White House, the US Postal Service is shipping free COVID-19 tests to households nationwide, and it takes only two minutes to place your order.

How the USPS Free COVID-19 Test Program Works

CNET tells us that President Joe Biden launched CovidTests.gov in January 2022, where households could order four free rapid antigen COVID-19 tests shipped by the Postal Service.

This service added more tests in subsequent months, with the latest round including four COVID tests.

Ordering free tests from the Postal Service is incredibly straightforward. Completing a short form asking for your name and mailing address takes less than two minutes.

Tests are typically delivered within one to three days of shipping and within seven to 12 days of placing your order.

If you lack internet access or face difficulties ordering online, you can request tests by calling 800-232-0233.

Given the uncertainty of how long the free COVID-19 tests will be available, ordering early is advisable.

HRSA Health Centers: These centers funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, offer free COVID-19 testing. You can use HRSA's locator tool to find a center near you.

Test to Treat Locations: Test to Treat is a federally funded healthcare initiative that provides COVID-19 testing and treatment. You can use their locator tool to find a center near you.

ICATT Testing Sites: ICATT (Increasing Community Access to Testing) offers free testing specifically for uninsured patients exposed to COVID-19 or experiencing symptoms. You can use the ICATT locator tool to find testing sites near you.

How to Get Free COVID-19 Vaccines and Booster Shots

With COVID-19 vaccines and boosters being crucial protection against the virus, knowing how to access them is essential. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, COVID-19 vaccines are 100% free for everyone in the United States, including those without insurance.

The Department of Health and Human Services launched the Bridge Access Program in September, ensuring free vaccines for those who are uninsured

You can access these vaccines through local health departments and HRSA centers. Additionally, the CDC has partnered with over 20,000 retail pharmacy locations nationwide to provide free vaccines.
