Dave2D has released a teardown video for the new PlayStation 5, dubbed in the gaming industry as the "Slim," and it carefully took apart the new console and looked into what it has to offer for gamers. The YouTuber noted the notable change in its weight, with its size seeing a smaller form factor compared to the original one, and the new detachable disc drive it features.

The new PS5 offers four panels in its body now, instead of two that cover one of each side.

In this teardown, Dave2D noted that its internals did not change drastically to save space, as Sony claimed, with its heatsink seeing massive changes that now features five heat pipes and a larger heatsink.

On the other hand, Linus Tech Tips regarded the new cooling system and noise suppression of the console, with the fan's sound now more directed towards the side vents.
