The same can be said for Avalanche Software and WB Games who were also snubbed, with fans questioning why this was the case for Hogwarts Legacy, despite seeing massive hype and several positive reviews about it.
Looking Back at 2023's Video Games
This year, many new games were released by renowned developers and publishers, being one of the most iconic 12 months for the video game industry and worldwide fans. Over at Nintendo, there were massive AAA-rated titles that arrived, and one of the tops here is The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom which debuted in May 2023, also known as seeing many nominations in-game events.
However, the announcement of The Game Awards 2023's nominees for Game of the Year also saw Hogwarts Legacy not making any categories, with fans initially questioning this.
In 2023's first five months, it is widely known that Hogwarts Legacy topped the charts for being the best-selling game of the year, beating Tears of the Kingdom.
