There's a new rumor which points out that Steam Deck's successor is coming from a mile with huge improvements. The leaker says that Valve's next-gen handheld will have an OLED option and a more advanced GPU.

Whenever we hear about Steam Deck 2, the first thing we think about is a "portable PC." You can get the best of worlds out of it since you can play Dota 2, Counterstrike: Global Offensive, and other PC games on Steam.

It might be early for us to know that a spec rumor has something to do with its GPU. Steam Deck 2 is touted to have AMD's Zen 4 Hawk Point processors.

Apart from that, a GPU upgrade means that Steam Deck's compute units will improve, as well. This signals that we can play more visual-heavy games in full display.

If this is true, Steam Deck can finally beat Ayaneo since the mere difference between the two is their chips.

While the GPU is mentioned in the rumor, the source did not mention its RAM capacity. Allegedly, Steam Deck 2 might use LPDDR5X RAM. No storage sizes are also included in the report.

Steam Deck 2 Might Go 'OLED'

If Nintendo Switch successfully releases the Switch OLED version, Valve could also do the same thing with Steam Deck.

As Dexerto writes in its report, a 900p resolution upgrade could arrive on Steam Deck 2. The rumor also hints that it will retain the 16:10 aspect ratio, not to mention the possibility of an OLED model release.

Given this information, we could probably see a 90Hz refresh rate on this console.

Steam Deck 2's Alleged Release and Pricing

Steam Deck 2 is rumored to come out at least by 2026. If this information aligns to Valve's plans, we expect the shipment to start by late 2025.

When it comes to its price, prepare your wallet for another ride. It remains unseen that Valve has yet to announce more information about this rumored Steam Deck 2. Of course, it will be more expensive than its predecessor. The upgrades will jack up the price even higher.

For now, you can enjoy playing on the Steam Deck OLED limited edition, but it's literally limited for some reasons. Since Valve wants to shoo away the bots and resellers from manipulating the Steam Deck prices, expect to see less frequent shipments for the current model.
