Activision Blizzard's renowned action first-person shooter game, Overwatch 2, is going all-in for a crossover in the upcoming season, and the game already teased its latest content featuring Cowboy Bebop. While the game did not mention anything about Cowboy Bebop and did not show any teaser for the characters coming, it played a teaser of the franchise's renowned theme song in the anime and Netflix adaptation.
For now, the character skins coming to Overwatch 2 remain unknown, but there are already speculations on who will arrive for the next season.
Overwatch 2 Teases Cowboy Bebop Crossover

The new release from Overwatch 2's Season 9 called Champions recently dropped, and the trailer brought massive things to expect from the game, as well as a massive teaser towards the end. This is because the team introduced a short clip that featured a Western-style theme, showing a tumbleweed that greatly references the Wild West and the popular theme song from Cowboy Bebop.
Of course, this was generally perceived as a teaser to an upcoming Overwatch 2 and Cowboy Bebop crossover, but because of the teaser's lowkey nature, significant details were left out.
The clip only confirmed Cowboy Bebop thanks to the "Tank!" theme song, immediately recognizable to fans of the anime and the Netflix series adaptation.
The new Season 9, a.k.a. "Champions," is coming this February 13, and next week, the world will get to see the first iteration of the manga and anime characters joining the game. According to ComicBook Gaming, the teaser hints at the arrival of Cassidy, a known side character in the Cowboy Bebop anime, also known as a bounty hunter.
However, it remains unknown if main characters like Spike Spiegel, Faye Valentine, and Jet Black will appear in this crossover.

Following the highly successful Overwatch release from Blizzard Entertainment in 2016, the company looked into offering the renowned multiplayer title to be more accessible to the public. It was revealed to be a free-to-play game, and this is despite it was originally sold to customers at the usual price for titles, and it arrived in 2022, six years after the first one.
The promising and hyped sequel from Activision Blizzard met an unfortunate reception back when it was released, with mixed reactions from gamers and content creators alike. One YouTuber went as far as to say that Overwatch 2 was the "most disappointing game" of 2022, with many sharing the same sentiment and comparing it to the original title.
Nevertheless, Overwatch 2 lives on, and it continues to bring new features, experiences, and content to gamers which helps expand more of the game in its run. The latest for Season 9's Champions will offer significant additions to the title, centering on the Overwatch 2 x Cowboy Bebop to bring a different kind of flair to the title, coming this February 13.
