Silent Hill 2's producer, Moto Okamoto spoke with Famitsu regarding the game's development, revealing new information about the anticipated title, including new speculations for when it would be released. The goal for Okamoto is to reboot the entire Silent Hill franchise, including the earlier and later stories of the series.
When asked about Silent Hill 2's development, Okamoto said that the team is already in the final stages of its remake, meaning that it would arrive soon.
However, Okamoto did not drop any specifics behind the game's release and refused to talk more about the subject of this game's development.
ComicBook Gaming regarded that the upcoming remake is expected to drop this 2024.
As per Okamoto, the Silent Hill reboot is not for one game only, as he and the team over at Konami are looking towards bringing back the entire series to the world. One of the main focuses of Silent Hill 2's remake is improving more on the visuals of the game, reenvisioning the title to create a "modern psychological horror," and developing it to bring better immersive experiences.

However, Konami's showcase featured the remakes of its various titles released before via the Silent Hill Transmission event, after many years of the gaming company and its producer not working on the franchise since 2012.

While this initial leak did not mention any specific titles of the Silent Hill game's return, there are speculations behind several remaster projects for the renowned titles in the past, but also new releases.
