According to Economic Daily News Today, a massive upgrade is coming to the iPhone 16 lineup and it is in the form of a new Neural Engine that would significantly improve its AI features and deliver "ultra-fast" processes. With this improvement in the Neural Engine, the iPhone 16 is set to deliver "built-in AI computing cores" that would help transform the iPhone as we know it.
The report also rumored that this technology would be applied to both the M4 and A18 Bionic SoCs from Apple, debuting the era of AI to the Cupertino devices.
Its last Neural Engine found on the iPhone 15, particularly the A17 Pro, can deliver up to 35 trillion operations per second, the fastest there currently is on the Apple smartphone.
Earlier rumors also claimed that the iPhone 16 would bring massive AI features thanks to the iOS 18's development, one that would feature more machine-learning experiences on the device. However, it remains unknown if this would be focused as an AI phone, much like what Samsung's Galaxy S24 series featured, centering on local AI available.
