Since its release on January 19, 2024, across PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One platforms, Palworld has surged in popularity, amassing a staggering player base exceeding 19 million.

This Pokémon-inspired survival-crafting game has captivated gamers worldwide with its immersive open-world experience. However, amidst its meteoric rise, Palworld encounters significant hurdles, primarily stemming from rampant cheating and server-related issues.

Server Strain and Cheating Concerns Plague Palworld

Palworld Struggles with Cheating Epidemic: Developer Responds with Anti-Cheat Measures
(Photo: Steam/PocketPair) PocketPair will be more strict when it comes to cheaters in Palworld, according to their latest post. The developer will now prioritize tracking down those who exploit the game.

Shortly after its launch, Palworld encountered server capacity issues, impeding players' access to the game. These disruptions frustrated players eager to delve into the virtual world.

Compounding the problem are unscrupulous players exploiting cheats and loopholes, exacerbating server instability and compromising fair gameplay.

What PocketPair Says About Recent Cheating Incidents

In a recent update on the Steam Blog, PocketPair, the developer of Palworld, addressed the disruptive impact of cheating on server connectivity.

"As a company, we do not tolerate any fraudulent activity or cheating, and we are working on measures to deal with it strictly and as a priority," the post continues. "First of all, we plan to release a player list function for servers in an update at the end of February. Through this, we will strengthen the identification of players who engage in cheating."

Acknowledging the severity of the situation, the game developer reassured players of their proactive stance in combating cheating behavior. Immediate measures involve identifying and banning offending players manually, albeit acknowledging the limitations of this approach in effectively curbing cheating.

Implementing Strict Anti-Cheat Measures

To mitigate the pervasive threat of cheating, PocketPair divulged plans to deploy an external anti-cheat solution. This proactive measure aims to safeguard the integrity of Palworld's gaming environment, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for all players.

While this initiative signifies a step in the right direction, its implementation underscores the developer's commitment to fostering a cheat-free gaming ecosystem.

PocketPair Apologizes Over Cheating Issues

Expressing regret over the disruptions caused by cheating incidents, PocketPair extended apologies to affected players. Despite the challenges encountered, the development team reassures players of their unwavering dedication to resolving issues promptly.

With the entire team diligently working towards restoring optimal gameplay conditions, players can anticipate a swift resolution and a seamless gaming experience in Palworld's vibrant universe.

Despite facing initial setbacks, Palworld remains resilient in its pursuit of excellence. Through proactive measures and unwavering commitment, the developer aims to uphold the integrity of Palworld's gaming environment, ensuring an immersive and fair experience for all players.

PocketPair vs. Nintendo

As expected, the saga between the Palworld maker and Nintendo, the gaming giant behind Pokemon, is just getting started. In a previous report by Gaming Bible, Nintendo went after a fan-made merchandise that features a Palworld design.

According to the report, the user who posted the design did not notice that Pal Sparkit's legal rights holder was Nintendo.

It's somewhat confusing as to why the Big N went for a small fish this time. Some users think that it's a lame move, given that no Pokemon resembles Sparkit.

Meanwhile, PocketPair warned users to refrain from downloading Palworld mobile apps at the moment. Although there's a mobile game in development, it's not yet out for public access.
