What to Expect from Final Fantasy XVI's The Rising Tide DLC?

The Rising Tide would be a different expansion on FFXVI which would center more on Leviathan, an unknown character who was only mentioned by name in the game. This will feature a sidequest and a new boss battle with the character which was highly regarded by Square Enix to be a "real spectacle."

It will feature the new appearance of Eikon, as well as new powers for Clive Rosfield. It also teased the unique Feats and Abilities of Leviathan, as well as the mystery of the blue-skied Valisthea.

The Rising Tide is coming this Spring 2024.

Final Fantasy XVI and Square Enix

The latest installment of the renowned RPG action franchise from Square Enix arrived last year, delivering Final Fantasy XVI to the world, initially exclusive on the PlayStation 5. However, it would not stay exclusive for long, as its producer, Yoshida, previously teased that it will also come to the PC platform after its exclusivity clause with Sony, but may take longer than expected.

While the team could have stopped on the release of the base game, it is not yet done with what it has to offer for the latest release as planned DLCs are coming soon. Yoshida's teaser of new content coming sheds light on the team's commitment to its latest game, with the DLC offering more experiences and a different focus on the game, with both introduced on the last The Game Awards.

Echoes of The Fallen was the first DLC made available to gamers, made available via the FFXVI Expansion Pass or available separately via the PlayStation Store. In this latest announcement from the game, Final Fantasy XVI is not slowing down with more of what it has to offer gamers, already teasing its second DLC and possibly addressing The Rising Tide's many offers and release date come next month.
