Changing Approach

Amidst numerous firsts, Apple is changing its approach, opting out of traditional events to unveil new products. Apple is poised to unveil new iPads and M3 MacBook Airs, potentially bypassing a traditional spring event in favor of online announcements.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the tech giant is expected to introduce the new hardware on its website soon. Despite the anticipation surrounding significant releases, such as new iPad Pro and iPad Air models, Apple is reportedly preceding a large-scale spring launch event.

This indicates that Apple intends to showcase the new products through online videos and marketing campaigns on its website. If this plan materializes, it would mark the second consecutive year that Apple has opted out of a spring event, with this year featuring an array of new products.

After this, their focus shifts to the Worldwide Developers Conference, where Apple will showcase groundbreaking generative AI advancements. Engineers hint it'll be the biggest iOS revamp ever.

Apple's announcements are expected soon, with Mac Rumors suggesting they could happen any time. However, Gurman predicts a more conservative timeline, estimating the hardware drop to occur either this month or the next.

Upcoming Apple Products

Apple is gearing up for a significant hardware launch in the coming weeks, with a lineup of new products ready for release.

This includes revamped iPad Pro models and an updated iPad Air offering a larger 12.9-inch screen option, alongside new Apple Pencils and Magic Keyboards tailored for these high-end iPads.

On the Mac front, expect the arrival of 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Airs equipped with the faster M3 chip. These new products are currently in production overseas, with Apple's marketing teams gearing up to announce them soon.

The upcoming releases mark several significant milestones. Notably, this includes the first overhaul of the iPad Pro lineup in nearly six years, the introduction of the first iPad featuring an OLED screen, and the debut of the first mid-tier tablet offering a 12.9-inch display size.

Additionally, the Magic Keyboard is receiving its first major upgrade, while the MacBook Air, Apple's most popular computer, is set to receive a 3-nanometer chip. With a plethora of firsts and significant updates, these products would typically be highlighted at a large-scale event by Apple.

The upcoming MacBook Air will maintain its current design, with the sole improvement being the upgraded processor.

Last year, Apple made significant changes to the MacBook Air, including a redesigned body with a notch for the camera, the reintroduction of the MagSafe charger, and other notable enhancements.

Looking ahead to 2023, Apple announced the release of the 15-inch MacBook Air, marking a substantial update to the lightweight laptop.
