The final piece of Square Enix's trilogy of Final Fantasy VII's remake is yet again set to be an exclusive title for PlayStation, paying homage to the renowned roots of the game in the Sony gaming console. This Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 follows the timed exclusive releases of the initial two games released from 2020 to this year, with the second game coming later this year.

However, it was not yet revealed how long this exclusivity clause between Square Enix and PlayStation for FFVII Remake to last, like the earlier releases.

The Washington Post released a new report about the fate of Final Fantasy VII Remake's Part 3 release, saying that the game will yet be another PlayStation exclusive once it releases. This collaboration between Square Enix and PlayStation lives on, with Christian Svensson citing that this exclusivity "made sense" as the game's roots are traced back to the original PlayStation.

The two earlier games were also timed PS exclusives, with Final Fantasy VII Remake (the first release) arriving on the PlayStation 4 in 2020 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth coming soon as a PS5 exclusive.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will only spend a three-month exclusivity on the PlayStation 5 once it releases later this year.

What to Expect from FFVII Remake on PlayStation

While there are still no release windows or dates mentioned for FF VII Remake Part 3, there are speculations on which PlayStation it would arrive on, especially as it may come at the period when Sony brings in its new console, the PlayStation 6.

There are now questions behind being a PS5 exclusive release or for the PS6, especially with its speculated release date dating to 2028.

Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Remake

Back in 2023, the Final Fantasy VII Remake achieved a new milestone which centers on 7 million copies sold on the PlayStation, catching up to the original release of the game in 1997, almost thirty years ago. It is important to note that this is for the first part of the remake, and not yet with the subsequent titles coming, with the next one centering on Rebirth and an unnamed Part 3

The first part of this massive remake for the once-biggest PlayStation release of the franchise centers on the iconic hero of the many FF games, Cloud Strife, showing the familiar character for those who played it before. This specific Japanese RPG title remains a classic for gamers despite the 16 mainline games released in the franchise, with the last one in 2023.

This beloved PlayStation, a.k.a. the PS1, game is set to deliver its other parts soon, but as early as now, the details behind Part 3 are ramping up among reports and insiders. Square Enix and PlayStation worked out yet another timed exclusive for the final part of Final Fantasy VII's remake, initially coming to the Sony console to pay homage, but would not be coming anytime soon.
