With over 1.7 million adults considering themselves full-time content creators, the creator economy is estimated to be a $100 billion industry. The creator economy has broadened to include social media stars, influencers, community builders, bloggers, videographers, influencer marketing platforms, and creator monetization software.

Despite what many may think, being a full-time creator isn't an easy job. Creators have to learn digital marketing, sales, and customer service. All of which takes creators away from their main job of delivering great content to their audience.

The challenge in running a creator business is what brings Whop in to help. Whop is a digital product marketplace with the mission of making anyone a digital creator. Leading the charge is Fj Tamimi, Whop's Head of CX. Fj is obsessed with great customer service and takes that same obsession to benefit Whop's creators. From giving free merch to even sending dinners, Fj ensures creators feel cared for and that Whop is a true partner to content creators.

Whop.com

Founded in 2021 by Steven Schwartz and Cameron Zoub, Whop is a digital marketplace that empowers creators to sell digital products like courses and software, with the goal of making everyone an internet entrepreneur. In the last three years, Whop has already processed over $300 million in transactions and closed a $17 million Series A raise. Fj Tamimi, the Head of CX at Whop.com, has been instrumental in Whop's success by elevating the creator experience on the platform. Fj's vision extends beyond helping facilitate transactions for creators—he aims to create a supportive ecosystem where creators can truly thrive.

A Creator's Best Friend

When it comes to how Whop works with creators, the relationship between Whop's account managers and creators goes beyond the typical professional relationship. It's something much more personal and supportive. "They're basically like best friends. Communication is done through iMessage," said Fj.

This ease of communication is further enriched by inviting creators to Whop's offices for in-depth sessions, where they can dive into their business needs and explore how Whop can further their success. "We invite a lot of creators to our office so that they can do in-office sessions to learn more about their business and see how we can benefit them more," Fj explains, highlighting the tailored support Whop provides.

Beyond personalized support, Whop has introduced other ways to enhance the creator experience on the platform. Whop's merch program, for example, rewards creators with branded merchandise as they achieve certain milestones. "As they process more money, they actually have more rewards coming from us. So they get merch. They get hoodies, shirts, mugs, and a ton more," Fj notes. He further emphasizes the program's success in fostering community and brand visibility as he's seen creators proudly wearing Whop merchandise publicly.

The Future of the Creator Economy

As the creator economy grows at staggering rates, Fj's vision with Whop is to enable creators worldwide to achieve true financial independence and success. However, the concept of a content creator is still emerging in various global regions. As Fj notes, "I would say this is not something that is known around the world yet." Fj aims to immerse himself for six months to a year in countries where the creator economy is nascent. He believes that understanding the unique cultural contexts can uncover new opportunities. "I want to be able to live six months to a year in countries where the creator economy is not something super popular... I want to get to know their culture. And then I want to figure out what would be a cool product for these different cultures to actually use."

Fj's work at Whop is more than just a series of strategic initiatives—it's a blueprint for the future of the creator economy, where anyone can become an internet entrepreneur and thrive in a supportive, creative environment. By continuously innovating and adapting to the needs of the creator community, Fj and Whop are not just part of the creator economy—they are actively shaping its future.
