Stuff will soon replace Newshub as the new 6 PM news bulletin for Three, a channel in New Zealand, which recently confirmed the proposal to replace its old evening news show in favor of the latest one. This came after Stuff won the pitching process to create a new news product that will be slated for its vital 6 PM slot for the channel, available all week long.

This was also done thanks to Three's partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery who would be working closely with the show's production and run.

Newshub will soon bid farewell, as Stuff will swoop in to replace the former news bulletin for the crucial 6 PM timeslot for the channel known as Three, as reported by The Spinoff New Zealand. Both parties, Stuff, and Newshub, confirmed this latest development after staff meetings, with the news broadcast first starting on Saturday, July 6, with Friday, July 5 being Newshub's last airing date.

According to the report, Stuff will run an hour-long program from Monday to Friday and 30-minute programmes on Saturday and Sunday.

"Today's announcement will see us working closely with WBD in a transition period as we create the new bulletin for them and will also support a longer-term partnership seeking broader news opportunities together," said Stuff CEO Sinead Boucher via a press release.

New Zealand's Latest 6 PM Bulletin, Stuff

New Zealand's Newshub is on the verge of shutting down, with this massive issue seeing its solution thanks to Stuff's proposal and WBD's help in delivering the latest 6 PM news bulletin of the country.

According to Stuff, this new direction saves Three's 6 PM news bulletin in the country for Warner Bros. Discovery, with WBD's Glen Kyne offering the "most compelling option" for the daily bulletin to deliver the latest and top news to New Zealand.

"As a large, already-established news organisation with newsrooms around the country, Stuff's proposal offered us strong confidence in the future we'll now embark on together," said Kyne.

Warner Bros. Discovery's Streaming

Warner Bros. and Discovery's merger was completed in 2022, but there were fears that the newly merged company would also be sold to other conglomerates, with reports behind many others interested in this sale. However, this is not the case now, as WBD remains its own entity now, best known for expanding more of streaming to the world.

In 2023, Warner Bros.' HBO Max and Discovery Plus were said to also merge to bring a more powerful streaming experience, with Max now known as the main streaming app of WBD.

There were still reported problems behind WBD's company, but one development from late 2023 saw WBD's interest in merging with another media giant, Paramount, with the deal said to have fallen earlier this year.

Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount went on their separate ways, with Max steering clear from its supposed merger with Paramount Plus for a massive streaming experience to offer.

Now, WBD's New Zealand presence made it possible to save the country and Three's 6 PM bulletin, soon launching Stuff with the channel to bring the daily news program for all.
