After a long wait, "Red Dead Redemption" is finally getting a PlayStation 5 physical copy, which has long been requested for by fans and collectors who want the tangible version of the game.
'Red Dead Redemption' PS5 Physical Edition Confirmed
Rockstar Games is giving fans what they want, and it is a physical version of the original "Red Dead Redemption" game on the PlayStation 5 platform. It is known that Rockstar has released a digital version of the game for the PS5 console in December last year, but many still wanted the studio to bring its physical version, complete with its disc and box.
The confirmation comes from Rockstar Games' preorder listing of "Red Dead Redemption's" physical PS5 copy on Amazon.
The PS5 version of "Red Dead Redemption" features enhanced visuals and frame rate for up to 4K resolution at 60 FPS, with HDR support also included. It also comes with a way to transfer PS4 save files to the PS5 version.
According to a report by GameRant, there were no official announcements regarding the listing of the game's physical copy, and it was only mentioned in reports after leaks from last month revealed that there is an upcoming one.
It can be recalled that Spanish retailer Wakkap previously listed "Red Dead Redemption" and said that it is coming in May.
'RDR' PS5 Physical Copy Price, Release Date
As mentioned earlier, Rockstar Games already launched the preorders of the original game on Amazon, and it is available for $29.99. The listing is light on details and does not touch on key information for physical buyers, such as whether a download is required at all for installation.
The report said that this version will be the same as its digital counterpart, including the single-player portion with the "Undead Nightmare" expansion included.
According to speculations, Rockstar Games is not stopping here as it also plans to release a physical game cartridge of the original "Red Dead Redemption" game to the Nintendo Switch 2. That said, there are still no official confirmations or announcements from Rockstar as of writing.
The "Red Dead Redemption" preorders will ship out from Amazon on Monday, May 4.
