Investigators are planning to obtain the mobile phone records of Bruce Jenner and the other drivers that were involved in a multi-vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a woman, the authorities revealed Feb. 8.

The records will help determine if any of the involved drivers were using their mobile phones before the accident on Feb. 7 happened. The investigators will be checking the call and text records for all the drivers, said the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Philip Brooks.

However, Brooks added that it could prove to be difficult to find out if any of the drivers were texting during the moment of the crash. Investigators will be looking for signs of the behavior of the drivers through the records, including multiple texts that may have been sent over a period of time until the collision.

"The problem is pinpointing the time of the accident," Brooks said, adding that all activity that happened before the crash, once the exact time has been determined, will not help with the case at all.

All the vehicles involved in the accident are in the possession of the authorities, and inspections are ongoing to determine whether the cars had defects that resulted in the accident.

The authorities are still trying to pinpoint the cause of the crash, which occurred about noon along the Pacific Coast Highway last Saturday. Seven people were injured and one woman died in the accident, which involved celebrity and former track and field athlete Bruce Jenner.

Jenner was heading north when his black Cadillac Escalade reportedly rear-ended a Lexus sedan which had hit the rear of a Toyota Prius. The Lexus then veered into oncoming traffic, leading to a head-on collision with a Hummer.

Kim Howe, the 69-year-old driver of the Lexus, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial reports of the incident said that paparazzi were chasing Jenner during the moments leading to the crash. However, authorities denied any indication of such a case.

Brooks said that Jenner was aware that paparazzi were following him. However, it appears that Jenner did not take any evasive actions in an attempt to avoid the paparazzi that would have caused the accident.

Jenner reportedly fully cooperated with the investigators, passed a sobriety test and submitted a sample of his blood to test for intoxication levels.

"My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible," said Jenner in a statement.
