For months, Oppo fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Find 7 smartphone. Oppo finally announced the launch date via social media. The Oppo Find 7 will launch on March 19 in Beijing, China and it will come in two different models.

"They are coming," Oppo wrote in a post on Google+ and another on Twitter, surprising all of its fans. Although Oppo regularly leaks the specifications for lots of its devices to fans on social media, the company neglected to mention that it would be releasing two different versions of the Find 7.

One version of the Find 7 will surely feature a 5.5-inch 2K display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 538 ppi. Oppo confirmed in an earlier leak last year that the Find 7 would have a 2K display, so at least one model must have a Quad HD display. This model is also expected to have 3 GB of RAM and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 or 805 processor under the hood. The Find 7 will reportedly run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but many hope Oppo will update it quickly to Android 4.4 KitKat.

The second version of the Find 7 is something of a dark horse. We can only assume that it will be the less high-end of the two smartphones, but its exact specifications are unknown. Oppo could make the second model a mini-me version of the 2K Find 7, with most of the same specifications, or it could downgrade the hardware on the second model and offer it for a lower price.

Odds are, the second Find 7 will feature a 1080p display and potentially a less powerful processor. Hopefully Oppo will leak a few more details about this mystery phone before the March 19th launch in Beijing.

Another point of speculation is whether Oppo will make a special edition of the Find 7 that runs CyanogenMod's custom ROM. Just last year Oppo released a very popular version of the N1 smartphone with CyannogenMod installed.

Initially, both Find 7 smartphones will be sold in China, but it is unknown where else Oppo will sell its new flagship. Oppo is a quickly growing brand in China and has begun to extend its reach around Asia, but like many other Chinese companies, it has yet to heavily penetrate the U.S. and European smartphone markets. Oppo has a presence in the United States, it just isn't terribly robust yet. However, the Find 7 will feature 4G LTE, so it is possible that it could come to the United States.
