Once in a while even the brightest stars fall from the sky, and though everyone will snigger and talk about it, what matters is how they pick themselves back up again. There are very few superstars that can turn an epic fall into an epic victory.
The Queen of Comeback has done it again! Only Madonna can pull off falling off stage during a live performance and still arise a dashing diva. Only one woman can turn a disastrous presentation into a redemptive production and outshine all performances of the night with an epic recovery.
The flamboyant routine of the 56-year old at Wednesday's award show aroused gasps and shocked reactions from the audience present at London's O2 Arena. It has been 20 years since Madonna's last appearance at the Brit Awards and indeed the much awaited performance of her new song "Living for Love" cemented her legendary status in more ways than one.
The matador-inspired theme of the performance suited Madonna's drive and determination to go on despite being forcefully yanked down the mini stairway props for her number. At first it seems that the fall was part of the show to add drama to the lines of the song that go: "I let down my guard, I fell into your arms/Forgot who I was, I didn't hear the alarms/Now I'm down on my knees, alone in the dark."
But the microphone falling out of her hand and the loud thud of her back hitting the ground made it obvious that something went very wrong.
The cause of the costly faux pas was apparently the tightly tied cape covering the singer, which was supposed to be dramatically pulled off by her dancers to reveal the sparkly ensemble underneath.
But as any veteran performer knows, the show must go on! And the ever-professional Madonna did not disappoint. In a skillful and resilient manner Madge stood up, brushed herself off, and proceeded to show everyone how a pro does it.
Madonna posted on Instagram her gratitude for the well wishes from her fans and even graciously thanked Armani for her glamorous costume.

Even though visibly shaken, the singer's voice was on point hitting every note perfectly proving that passion and living for love can literally lift you up.
