The next big thing, at least according to wireless carrier Verizon, is nearly here: the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung's newest flagship smartphones are reportedly coming to consumers as spring arrives in the U.S. northeast.

Verizon Wireless' official website is proclaiming the smartphones' imminent arrival without giving any specifics on actual launch dates. Interested consumers can sign up for an email alert to get the latest updates.

The promotional page lists out all the new features and design touches Samsung has incorporated in its newest Galaxy handsets, describing them as "designed for life," and touting their sleek, slim and elegant design.

"The new Galaxy S6 edge gives you the most speed, the most power and the best performance of any Samsung smartphone ever. Browse blazingly fast. Work, watch and game -- all at the same time. Speed up your mobile life with the Galaxy S6 edge," says Samsung.

A Twitter post about the smartphone's impending arrival drew some fan reaction, but more than a few noted how they weren't thrilled with Verizon's logo placement. The branding is located on the back panel.

"The Verizon logo kills it. Why do you guys insist on dong that? No one ever wants it and usually hides it under a case if they can," notes @rjinaz.

One report claims U.S.-based Samsung buyers will just have two color choices initially when ordering the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge: black and white. Samsung has stated the smartphones will be available in a few other colors, including blue, green and gold.

As Tech Times reported, the new flagship handsets share the same high-end specs, with one notable difference being the S6 Edge's dual-display.

While Samsung has stated the two devices will go on sale starting Apr. 10, there is no definitive launch date from Verizon or the other wireless carriers and retailers that will also be offering the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.

Verizon is just one of a handful of carriers expected to sell the two new Samsung smartphones. The list includes AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular. Retailers include Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Walmart, Target and Sam's Club.
