With the aim of transforming how businesses are conducted, Adobe has launched the Adobe Document Cloud, which will be a more efficient way for PDF management.

On Tuesday, March 17, Adobe made the announcement and revealed that its Adobe Document Cloud would offer users a modern means of managing their important documents across multiple devices, in the comfort of their home or at work.

"People and businesses are stuck in document-based processes that are slow, wasteful, and fragmented. While most forms of content have successfully made the move to digital (books, movies, music), documents and the process of working with them have not, and that needs to change," said Bryan Lamkin, SVP of Technology and Corporate Development at Adobe. "Adobe Document Cloud will revolutionize and simplify how people get work done with critical documents."

The notion behind the Adobe Document Cloud is negating the need for users to print out a PDF ever again. It intends to simplify how one edits and organizes their documents. Document Cloud is somewhat akin to the Google Drive, but has built-in tools that will enable editing of the PDF documents.

The Document Cloud includes a new Adobe Acrobat DC meant for the web, mobile devices and the PC. Users will have the option of not only creating, but also approving, reviewing, signing and tracing documents via the service on both desktops and/or mobile devices.

The Acrobat DC will also pack in the capability to take e-signatures for free in a bid to make the feature mainstream. The e-signing tool is based on Adobe EchoSign, OCR technology, as well as some smart image-handling. Users will be able to sign and send any document via any device be it mobile or a PC. Moreover, thanks to the "Fill & Sign" mobile app users can convert any photo or scanned document to a digital file that can be edited. The smart autofill feature which will work across devices will save a user the trouble of keying in their personal details such as email address or birth day time and again.

Another neat feature is the Send and Track feature which will let a user control, manage and track their documents efficiently. The tracking system is intuitive and lets a user know who has opened their document where and at what time.

The new tools for Adobe's Document Cloud are slated to launch within 30 days. Those who subscribe to Acrobat Cloud for $14.99 each month will receive both Document Cloud and Acrobat DC automatically once available.
