The first season of The CW's The Flash has pulled out all the stops and given us a lot of revelations, especially in the past few episodes.

One of those revelations unveiled that the "good" Dr. Harrison Wells, is more than what he claims. In fact, we've learned that Wells is actually Eobard Thawne, with his secret identity being the Reverse-Flash.

Thanks to two new trailers released by The CW, we see that Wells' history is even more mysterious than we thought, and it's likely we'll see a lot of his back story soon.

But just what is that back story?

In DC Comics, Eobard Thawne was also Professor Zoom in his first incarnation, a criminal from the 25th century who finds one of the Flash's costumes, which he tweaks to give him the same powers as the Flash. After the Flash obtains and destroys the costume, though, Thawne kills Barry's wife, Iris. The Flash finally kills Thawne by breaking his neck.

Thawne reappeared later in other books, including Flash: Rebirth. In that story, Thawne claims that he has traveled back in time and makes sure that Barry becomes the Flash so that he can become the Reverse-Flash. In that story, he frames Barry's father for the death of Barry's mother (similar to the series).

However, in The CW series, Thawne, aka Wells, is Harrison Wells, but in this first clip, we see someone calling themselves Eobard Thawne approach Wells after the car accident that killed Wells' wife. We learn that Wells became "a completely different person" after the accident, and that Thawne has taken his identity.

In the second trailer, the Arrow team, as well as The Atom, joins the Flash in Central City to battle the bad guys, while Barry figures out how to travel to the past and save his Mom. He now believes that Wells killed her.

But wait, there's more! Because in this trailer, we also get another peek at Gorilla Grodd, who has shown up as a tease in a few episodes, but it looks like he's only being introduced, perhaps even set up for later episodes or even season two of the series, as the big bad guy. Of course, we're more worried about Wells, who promises Barry that he will die.
