Details regarding iOS 8 have been leaking at a steady rate and its new Healthbook app is explained in detail with screenshots.

Apple is well known for being extremely secretive about unannounced products and typically keeps a tight lid on things before making it official. As we get closer to the company's WWDC in June, we're beginning to see major leaks regarding the next version of iOS, iOS 8. The company will reportedly give iTunes Radio its own application and we've seen images of what it supposedly iOS 8's Home screen. The leaked images show four new applications; TextEdit, Preview, Tips, and Healthbook.

TextEdit and Preview in iOS 8 will reportedly function as shortcuts to images and documents users have saved to iCloud. Tips is expected to be an interactive guide on how to use the device it's on and help users get more comfortable using iOS 8. We 're starting to get a better idea on how Healthbook will work, thanks to a new report and screenshots.

9to5Mac has been providing details of features in iOS 8 and it's now giving us a glimpse into how Healthbook will work and how it will look. The images show Healthbook uses a Passbook-inspired user interface, consisting of cards for categories like bloodwork, heart rate, hydration, blood pressure, activity, nutrition, blood sugar, and sleep. The app will track data from information coming from the iPhone 5s' M7 motion processor and presumably iPhone 6 and iWatch.

Healthbook will provide iOS 8 users a one-stop shop way to access health and fitness information instead of accessing this information using multiple apps. The cards in Healthbook will provide users with detailed information to the corresponding category and a graph to visualize progress over a period of time. This information can also be shared with healthcare providers who will be able to get an overview of different categories and make suggestions based on the data stored in Healthbook.

Rumors have claimed that one of iOS 8's biggest features would be focused on health and fitness, and Healthbook clearly shows this to be the case. We'll of course have to wait for Apple to make Healthbook official before we know exactly how the application will work. The company is expected to show off iOS 8 at WWDC in June and we'll be sure to bring you more iOS 8 details as they become available.
