Actress Alyssa Milano, known for her role in Who's the Boss when she was a teen star, caught social attention as she turned to Twitter and expressed her disappointment in Heathrow Airport's security. According to her tweets, the airport had confiscated her pumped breast milk, which weighed 10 ounces.

Milano was traveling with her husband, David Bugliari, on a "romantic getaway." However, the supposed "romantic" atmosphere was somehow tainted with feelings of disgust and disbelief.

"(1 of 2) @HeathrowAirport just took my pumped breast milk away. 10 ounces. Gone. Not okay," tweeted Milano.

She then followed it up with a series of tweets. "(2 of 2) They said they would let the pumped milk through if I had the baby with me. Why would I need to pump if I had the baby with me????"

"@HeathrowAirport Why can you test my toiletries to make sure they are safe but you have to throw away my breast milk?"

"@HeathrowAirport I was told I would be fine if the baby was with me. Plus, it was less than 5 ounces per container. Why is my shampoo okay?"

"@HeathrowAirport I would have happily spread milk in different containers (which I travel with) to comply to those liquid rules."

Milano is a mother to Elizabeth Dylan, seven months, and Milo Thomas, three and a half.

Heathrow Airport responded to Milano's tweets and explained their actions.

"@Alyssa_Milano Hi Alyssa. Unfortunately, without a baby present, the government requires all liquids in carry-ons to follow the 100 ml rule."

According to the FAQ section of the airport's official site, parents are advised that they can carry a reasonable amount outside of their liquid bag when they are travelling with a baby or a nursing infant.

Milano has been a proponent of public breastfeeding. In the U.S., breastfeeding mothers are allowed by the TSA to carry their milk when taking a flight. They are not limited on how much milk they can take and it doesn't even matter if their babies are with them or not.

Milano continued to speak out.

"Every ounce of milk I'm able to produce for my child is nothing short of a miracle and to watch that milk be thrown away without any regard for my baby was heartbreaking. It's not the fault of the security in the airport; they're following orders to keep us all safe."
