Reports from the Dallas Morning News say that the huge storm that is sweeping across Texas had resulted to a number of events being delayed in the area. These include the game between FC Dallas and Toronto FC, and the Academy of Country Music's Party for a Cause festival that is being held in Arlington. Moreover, all flights at Dallas Love Field had to be stopped and would resume as soon as the storm passes.

According to the National Weather Service, areas that are heavily populated and noted to have the highest danger of storms are identified as Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Norman, Oklahoma.

News anchor Kris Spears of the Dallas Morning News also reported that tens of thousands of power outages were seen across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

There were also reports that quarter-sized hail hit central Nebraska which trailed further through the plains of western Oklahoma and eventually landed in Texas.

Incidence of flooding was also reported particularly in Houston. Emergency workers had to pull drivers from vehicles after they were trapped by the rising water. A number of automobiles had reportedly been broken because of the storm with some drivers saying that water had nearly reached their car bumpers. Some of the area's creeks and bayous were filled up to their banks.

"These components came together and voila!" said meteorologist Paul Lewis of the Weather Service.

"We've been totally backed up considering that late final night," said Dave Huber, common manager of Apple Towing Company. "The harm is primarily automobiles flooding and folks driving off underpasses that are just also deep."

Common manager Luis Saucedo of Texas Ideal Towing said he received a number of calls Friday evening from residents who were stranded near Hobby Airport and from those coming from other locations on the southeast area.

One unconfirmed report mentioned that a tornado was seen in an unpopulated area of Edwards Plateau county which is around 110 miles northwest of San Antonio. There were no reports about damage or injuries in the aftermath of the tornado.

Sheriff Dwayne Villanueva of Karnes County noted an oil tank explosion on Friday in Karnes City which sent flames of more than 100 feet into the air. He blamed lightning as the cause of the explosion.

The hardest hit areas were found near LaPorte and downtown which prompted the Apple Towing company to deploy 13 drivers. The number is said to be double compared to the normal quantity of deployment on a typical Saturday.
