Earth Day 2015 is almost here, and as the name of the holiday suggests, it's a day dedicated to raising awareness about the need to protect the place we call home. While Earth Day is meant to be a celebration, thinking about the end of the world around this time is also inevitable.

However, if the last thing humanity saw was this doomsday video that premiered during Sunday night's episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, the end of the world would still be terrible, but it wouldn't be quite as bad.

Remember when someone leaked that doomsday video that CNN would reportedly play if and when the world comes to an end? The video is eerie as heck, with a marching band playing the somber yet peaceful "Nearer My God To Thee," which, as legend has it, is the last tune that the musicians on the Titanic played as the ship sank.

Well, John Oliver was having none of this. CNN's doomsday video did not sit well with him, and I suspect that you felt the same. So, he enlisted Martin Sheen to make an alternate doomsday video so that the last thing humanity sees before the end makes them laugh instead of cry.

This four-minute video is like one last hurrah for humanity as Sheen reminds us of all of mankind's wonderful achievements during our time here on Earth. We became the first species to evolve to walk on two legs and then invented the Segway so we didn't have to. We should be thankful that we got to experience peanut butter, monster trucks and a cereal made entirely of cookies. Oh, and we dressed cats up as cowboys. We will never forget you.

Check out the full doomsday video below and hope that we never see it air for real.
