The official full-length trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was recently released, and like many big movies, the Zack Snyder-directed project has received the LEGO treatment, pitting the Dark Brick Knight against the Man of Plastic Bricks.

We have YouTube channel FinalFeature to thank for the near-identical reproduction of Dawn of Justice's original trailer, a LEGO shot-by-shot rendition of Superman's predicament as he faces the consequences of his actions from Man of Steel.

The original trailer was leaked online last week — just a few days before it was supposed to debut on April 20 as a special launch event in cinemas across the United States. In any case, FinalFeature said it has been preparing for the trailer to set up a confrontation between Batman and Superman for some time now.

"I have spent months preparing to remake this trailer," the mastermind behind FinalFeature wrote in the video's description. "Gathering information, building, learning and putting all of the pieces together to recreate the trailer in a short period of time."

Snyder responded to the leak by taking to Twitter and posting a clear version of the trailer.

Whereas casting anything in LEGO is a surefire way to make it more fun, FinalFeature's Batman v Superman manages to retain some of the darkness from the official trailer. Even the voice-overs reflect the gravity of the original. Holly Hunter's line "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely" may have been said over the visual of a plastic Superman statue — but the statement still had the same intensity.

Comments left on the LEGO trailer's page revealed many fans of the work, which had over 200,000 views three days after it was posted.

"It's just as good in LEGO form." -Wesley Shark

"This was pretty awesome! Nice job!" -Michael Warbux

"This is too fantastic for words." -Josh Sowin

FinalFeature reworked the second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens as well. Disney will also release a retelling of the Star Wars saga in LEGO before the seventh episode drops in December.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in theaters in 2016. The film will feature Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Amy Adams is also onboard, reprising her role as Lois Lane from Man of Steel. Ben Affleck will play Batman and Henry Cavill will be Superman.
