Social media can be a very positive part of someone's life. It can allow people to keep in touch from opposite sides of the country, it can keep people informed about current events and it allows people to make connections that they might not have otherwise.

People can complain about how "social media is ruining the world" all they want, but social media can also do a lot of good.

That being said, there are some people who probably just shouldn't be allowed on sites like Facebook. No, not just random jerks but people who are just too inept to use social media intelligently. That might sound harsh, but everyone knows that one person that doesn't belong on Facebook. Levi Charles Reardon is one of those people.

Why? Because when police posted a Wanted poster of Reardon onto their local Crimestoppers page, Reardon "Liked" his own mugshot ... and was subsequently arrested.

Before his arrest, Reardon had two separate warrants out for his arrest: apparently, Reardon was stealing wallets and trying to cash fradulent checks ... on four separate occasions. However, modern banking leaves a pretty detailed paper trail, and Reardon was already on their radar — it wasn't long before police officials were able to make their arrest, and Reardon was taken into custody early Friday morning.

It's not the first time something like this has happened: last year, Roger Ray Ireland taunted police on Facebook, claiming that they would never catch him ... which they did. While Reardon's case wasn't quite as arrogant, it probably wasn't a good move to draw attention to himself while he was wanted on felony charges.

Social media can be a great tool ... especially when catching crooks too stupid to know when to stay quiet.
