Constantine is dead as far as NBC is concerned, so fans who were hoping the network would rally behind a season 2 should no longer hold their breath. The announcement of Constantine's demise came by way of executive producer Daniel Cerone.

No doubt this is sad news for DC fans everywhere, as they have been waiting for months to find out if this underrated show would kick off again on NBC. However, as it stands, NBC has no faith in a season 2, but that doesn't mean Warner Bros. has given up just yet.

Cerone posted on Twitter that the company is looking for other networks to pick up Constantine for a second season. No word yet on the networks that Warner Bros. is supposedly in talks with, but we can be certain it is not Fox since that network has Gotham on lockdown and a potential Lucifer series in the pipeline.

Chances are, Syfy could be the new home since shortly after Constantine season 1 ended, rumors began to swirl that Warner Bros. could choose to throw the show to Syfy and see if it sticks. Many fans wanted this to happen since the network could allow for the writers of the show to visit darker themes not possible on NBC.

With NBC passing, Warner might find it difficult to locate a new home for Constantine. The writers and showrunners will have to give their best pitch yet to convince others to adopt a show that failed halfway through its first season. Bear in mind that Constantine was supposed to kick season 1 off with 23 episodes, but only managed to deliver 13.

The best thing for Warner to do right now is to make the show available on the web via Netflix or Amazon Prime.

What about HBO?

Let's be serious here: Constantine is not a fix for HBO unless big changes are made. Warner could up the budget and focus on a short season with just 10 to 13 episodes instead of 23. This would work well since several episodes in season 1 felt out of place.

At the end of the day, Warner has its work cut out. The coming months are going to be grueling as the mission to save Constantine continues.
