While OnePlus is finally able to address the touchscreen issues that have been plaguing a small percentage of its OnePlus One smartphone since launch, the company is still not yet ready to deliver a fix.

The One has been experiencing issues in which its touchscreen becomes unresponsive.

Most One handsets haven't experienced the touchscreen problem. This made it harder for OnePlus to pinpoint the issue, but thanks to the phone's vocal community, OnePlus continued looking into the matter and waited until it had something solid before it announced that a fix was upcoming, according to a forum post from a staff member who goes by the handle Carl.

"We take your feedback seriously and have been putting the One through a battery of tests and determined that there are different issues at play, some software and some hardware," stated Carl on OnePlus' forums. "We have, and will continue, to stand behind our products and honor warranty."

The Chinese hardware manufacturer has been working closely with Synaptics, developer of touch and biometrics hardware, to find a resolution for the bug. The fix, however, doesn't have an ETA just yet.

Carl thanked users for their patience and encouraged them to reach out to OnePlus' "improving" customer support team.

"We are constantly making changes and improving our service level," Carl stated. "If a previous interaction with support left you unsatisfied, we encourage those who believe their devices are affected by this issue to try again."

The One's touchscreen issues have been around since the device was launched roughly a year ago. Despite the problems, the Android-based smartphone has been cultivating a strong community.

Up until April, OnePlus was using an invite system for those interested in owning a One. Only OnePlus or One owners could send invites to others until April 20.

"We have always wanted to put great products into the hands of more people," OnePlus stated in a blog post. "And, we now feel confident that we have matured enough to handle the increased complexity that comes along with opening up sales completely."

A few weeks before the OnePlus killed its invite system, the company launched its very own version of Android. The OxygenOS, a forked version of Android, will enable OnePlus One to offer more responsive support for the company's hardware, OnePlus stated.
