Spike Lee can now add video game to his reel.

The famed director was tabbed to work on NBA 2K16's interactive feature, MyCareer, which gives gamers a feel for the social and business aspects of the league.

Lee explained the element, while speaking to USA Today.

"We follow a kid through the trials and tribulations of being a top high school player and the decisions he has to make," said Lee, who added that he had to get used to the 12-day motion-capture shoot at 2K Games' Bay Area studios.

Lee shot a total of 90 minutes of a "cinematic narrative," equaling about 12 hours of in-game drama, the series' spokesperson Ryan Peters told USA Today. Lee even included a protagonist and antagonist.

The move to bring Spike in to work on the basketball video game is a total marriage between his love for directing and passion for hoops, as a life-long, die-hard New York Knicks' fan. But don't expect the Brooklyn native to be any good at playing the video game.

"My son's taught me a bit," Lee added, "but I'm a dinosaur."

While it was probably a thrill for Lee to work on the basketball video game, we're sure he would have much rather been watching his Knicks around this time of year. Although at 17-65, the Knicks didn't even come within sniffing distance of the playoffs. (Always next year).

Anyhow, NBA 2K16 will have three All-Stars on its cover: league MVP Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets' shooting guard James Harden and New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis.

NBA 2K16 is slated for a fall release. Until then, we have the NBA Finals, beginning tonight. And in case you're wondering who Spike is pulling for ... it's Curry and the Warriors.
