The Facebook app for BlackBerry is finally out of beta and an updated version of the app is available for BlackBerry 10 handsets.

The change log of the app suggests that the updated version brings in many new features and enhances the overall experience for the user.

"This is an important update," per the BlackBerry App World. "There are some non-user facing changes that are mandated by Facebook in order to create a better overall user experience."

Social media fans can now see additional and improved story types in the NewsFeed. The new Facebook update will allow users to view comments and likes for an album as well as post likes and comments. Users can also set an image in the album as the cover photo.

The latest Facebook app update for BlackBerry 10 devices has also removed several bugs that prevented a seamless user experience.

Many people want to keep in touch with their family and friends on a regular basis and communications via social media apps such as from Facebook, Twitter and more have become very common. Millions of people use social media services only via their portable devices such as their smartphones, which suggests the importance of developing an app that offers best user experience for portable devices.

Even though the market share of BlackBerry smartphones have dropped drastically in the last decade there are still many customers using BlackBerry handsets. An updated version of the Facebook will be welcomed by many BlackBerry 10 customers who use the social media app on a regular basis.

BlackBerry strongly recommends that users now update the Facebook app to the new version. The old Facebook app version for BlackBerry may not work or may not work optimally after the release of the updated app.

The updated version of the app is available as a free download from the App World. The file weighs 24MB and can be used on a number of BlackBerry 10 handsets such as the BlackBerry Classic, BlackBerry Passport, BlackBerry Leap, BlackBerry Q10, BlackBerry Z10 and more.
