Best Buy is selling the 8GB model of the iPhone 5c for just $300, which is a discount of $200. The massive discount is available on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint models of the smartphone.

Until 2013, Apple only made top-end iPhones. However, this changed in September 2013, when Apple introduced its first mid-segment smartphone: the iPhone 5c. Apple thought that the iPhone 5c would be a game changer and lure many more customers, but the handset failed to entice as many customers as was expected by the company.

Apple is offering the 8GB model of the iPhone 5c directly from its website at a price tag of $450. At launch Apple did offer the 16GB and 32GB models of the iPhone 5c but these models were discontinued from September 2014.

All top-four carriers in the U.S.: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile, are offering the iPhone 5c at a price mark of $450. However, the AT&T, Verizon and Sprint versions of the iPhone 5c are up for grabs for just $300 from Best Buy.

The iPhone 5c has decent specs such as a 4-inch LED-backlit widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology, 1136 x 640 pixels resolution and 326 ppi. The iPhone 5c has an 8MP iSight camera and 1.2MP FaceTime camera.

The iPhone 5c has a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that Apple claims can offer 10 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby time.

The iPhone came running on iOS 7 and it also received the iOS 8 software update. Apple has also confirmed that the iPhone 5c will also get the iOS 9 upgrade.

The Best Buy deal may attract smartphone customers who are looking to buy their first iPhone at a pocket-friendly price. The iPhone 5c does not give the option to expand the memory with a microSD card. Even though the Best Buy offer may entice many customers, the storage capacity of the handset may deter other buyers.

iOS 8 takes more than 4.5GB system space, which means the customers are left with just about 3.5GB internal storage. However, Apple recently revealed that the upcoming iOS 9 will occupy only 1.3GB space, which may attract customers to take advantage of the $200 discount offered by Best Buy.
