The grand finale for the fifth season of Game of Thrones is nearly here. After last week's shocking episode, the stakes have been raised, the armies have been mustered and key characters are ready to put it all on the line for episode 10, titled "Mother's Mercy."

HBO has released the official "summary" for what the season finale will be about. Check it out below.

Stannis marches. Dany is surrounded by strangers. Cersei (Lena Headey) seeks forgiveness. Jon is challenged.

As usual, it is as vague as possible. That is, however, where these newly released images and trailer come in. From the trailer, it seems clear that Stannis' choice to burn his daughter alive "worked." The snow appears to be melting and Stannis can once again march his army towards Winterfell. It looks like a solid portion of Sunday night's episode will involve his siege of the castle.

It's nice to see all these characters converge once more. We will have Sansa, Brienne, the Boltons and Stannis all in one location for this episode, which means less jumping around across the realm. Jon, Cersei and Arya will all have some major choices to make as well. It seems like Cersei may finally be giving in to her captors demands to repent. Will she confess her sins to the High Sparrow? Jon has made many an enemy in the Night's Watch by bringing the Wildlings south of the Wall, so he too will have to make some hard choices. And as we've seen in the last several episodes, Arya continues to struggle with completely abandoning her identify as a Stark in order to become a "Faceless Man."

The official images from HBO tease much the same, as everybody sits around and looks sad and glum. Perhaps most interesting is the fact that Dany is nowhere to be seen. She flew off atop her dragon at the end of the last episode, but where is she going?

She doesn't appear in the trailer or promotional images, though we do see her inner circle sitting in her thrown room looking worried. The episode summary says "Dany is surrounded by strangers." What could that possibly mean?

We will find out on Sunday during the season finale.
