Sprint is now offering the LG Stylo, a mid-range, 5.7-inch smartphone equipped with a built-in stylus, for a wallet-friendly price.

America's third-biggest wireless carrier is now selling the Stylo, also known as the LG G4 Stylus in other parts of the world, for only $288 without a contract. That is far less than the $720 Sprint charges for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, arguably the best stylus-wielding phablet with a 5.7-inch display.

Of course, for its price, the Stylo does not come with all the bells and whistles that are included in a device priced above $700. Running on Android Lollipop, the Stylo packs in a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels and is powered by a mid-range 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor from Qualcomm.

The version Sprint sells features 1 GB of RAM and built-in disk space of 8 GB that is expandable via a microSD card. On the rear, we can find a decent enough eight-megapixel camera with laser autofocus and a five-megapixel shooter in front for the selfie-lover and the avid video conference user.

Providing power to the Stylo is a huge 3,000 mAh battery that can be removed and replaced. The smartphone also comes with custom LG enhancements, such as the popular Knock Code that lets users create a custom tap code to unlock their smartphones and Quick Memo+ to allow users to create memos.

If, for some reason, customers want to purchase the Stylo with a two-year contract, Sprint offers the handset for only $49.99. Buyers can also get it for $12 for 24 months through Sprint's EasyPay program.

Sprint is not the only carrier offering the Stylo. Sprint-owned Boost Mobile, in fact, sells the stylus-equipped smartphone for only $199 without a contract, while Sprint Prepaid also began selling the phone for the same price last week.

T-Mobile is also selling the device for $290, a little bit more expensive than what Sprint is asking for. However, the Un-carrier is selling a beefed up version of the Stylo, with a 13-megapixel rear camera, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in memory expandable to 32 GB. If you prefer using a GSM network, T-Mobile's offer is definitely the better deal.

T-Mobile-owned MetroPCS also sells the same variant of the Stylo but for $199. Customers who prefer going prepaid can get the most out of their money from MetroPCS, provided T-Mobile's network coverage works for them.
