This year's E3 presentation by Sony is very likely to include their virtual reality headset Project Morpheus. However, a VR system without any games is useless, right?

This morning, Crytek announced a virtual reality game called Robinson: The Journey and launched an official website for the title. Crytek, however, did not announce a system compatible with the game, so is it likely that Robinson: The Journey might somehow be part of Sony's E3 conference later today?

The answer is "probably." Here is a fact: Microsoft and Xbox One don't have a virtual reality headset yet, although Oculus recently announced a partnership with Microsoft. However, Sony already has its own virtual reality headset, Project Morpheus, that the company hopes to have available to the public by next year.

With a release date looming on the horizon (it is, after all, only, only six months until 2016), it's likely that Sony has started partnerships with game developers for virtual reality titles. Also, Crytek's announcement comes at a time just before we're likely to see a lot more about Project Morpheus. In other words, it makes sense that we'll see Robinson: The Journey make an appearance during Sony's E3 presentation.

Crytek announced the game earlier today on Twitter.

The company followed that up with an official website for the game.

"Go beyond boundaries in Robinson: The Journey, a brand new virtual reality game from Crytek," reads the website. "Harnessing the power of CRYENGINE, Robinson: The Journey will offer players an unparalleled sense of presence in a game world as they assume the role of a young boy who has crash-landed on a mysterious planet. With freedom to explore their surroundings in 360 degrees of detail, players will become pioneers by interacting with the rich ecosystem around them and unearthing incredible secrets at every turn."

Of course, not many more details are available, but we expect more information to come out later this week (and again, potentially during Sony's presentation tonight).

According to Eurogamer, Cryotek demoed a VR "experience" earlier this year, Back to Dinosaur Island.

Sony's news conference begins tonight at 6 p.m. PDT.
