We knew it was coming and now we've got photographic proof of the HTC One M8Mini. The smartphone will include a similar design to the M8, 4.5-inch 720p display, and more.

HTC has gone head to head with Samsung's latest devices. The HTC One Max is HTC's answer to the Galaxy Note 3, the HTC One M8 is the company's flagship smartphone and competes with the Samsung Galaxy S5, and now there's further proof HTC plans on releasing a smartphone to directly compete with Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S5 Mini, which we recently reported on. That smartphone is expected to debut on Verizon and will find a new competitor in the upcoming and unannounced HTC One M8 Mini.

I had the opportunity to review the HTC One M8 and it's an extremely impressive smartphone. If there is one area that may possibly turn off consumers to the smartphone; it would be its overall size. HTC apparently knows that's an issue and it's getting ready to announce the HTC One M8 Mini, which will be smaller than its older sibling and feature a 4.5-inch 720p display.

The first press images of the HTC One M8 Mini have leaked and they come via the always reliable evleaks. As you can see in the image, the HTC One M8 Mini will retain the HTC One M8's brushed aluminum unibody case and it's excellent front-facing dual stereo speakers. The handset will be offered in the same gunmetal grey, glacial silver, and champagne gold as the HTC One M8.

The leaked images also reveal there will be one noticeably absent feature. The HTC One M8 Mini will not ship with the flagship model's DuoCamera. It appears HTC is reserving its DuoCamera feature to flagship devices. It will instead reportedly include a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. It will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat and HTC Sense 6. It is expected to be powered by a quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM 16GB of internal storage and microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards.

There's no word on an official launch date, but we'll keep you posted on any new information regarding the HTC One M8 Mini.
