Batman's sidekick has had a long, storied career.

Dick Grayson grew up and became Nightwing. These days, he's a superspy in the comic book Grayson. Jason Todd died and then came back to life to become bad-boy hero the Red Hood. Tim Drake graduated to become Red Robin, a vigilante with detective skills to rival Batman's own. Stephanie Brown briefly served as Robin before working as Spoiler and then Batgirl.

These days, Robin is Damian Wayne, Bruce's son. He's starring in his own book, seeking atonement for past sins in a title called Robin: Son of Batman. And then there's We Are Robin, a new book that finds teenagers from Gotham working under Robin's symbol to fight crime together.

This year, Robin turns 75 years old. (He's looking pretty good for his age!) To celebrate, DC Comics is launching a pair of event series that put Robin at the forefront of the action.

First up is Batman & Robin Eternal, a weekly series that serves as a sequel to Batman Eternal. Running for six months, the title is being written by a team that will work much as it did for the first series. Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV are overseeing the series, guiding the overall storyline, while scripting is being handled by Tim Seeley, Genevieve Valentine, Steve Orlando, Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly and Ed Brisson. Tony S. Daniel, Paul Pelletier and Scot Eaton are key players in the art team.

Later in the year, a crossover event kicks off called "Robin War." It will unfold in the pages of Gotham Academy, Robin: Son of Batman and We Are Robin, bookended by solo comics written by Tom King with art by Khary Randolph.

Batman & Robin Eternal kicks off on October 7, 2015 and will run for six months. "Robin War" begins in December.
