Batman fans may be divided over whether or not the Dark Knight should be wearing armor or the classic cloth suit, but just about everyone can agree that the Arkham Knight rocks the armored look. It's like a militarized version of Batman: it's sleek, it's functional — it's everything an aspiring supervillain could possibly want.

That being said, this sort of thing is typically reserved for the fictional world: after all, if someone had invented multi-layered powered armor by now, everyone and their grandmother would be trying to get a suit. Sadly, finding a functional version of the Arkham Knight's suit in the real world just isn't possible yet.

So, one pair of friends decided to do the next best thing: while it may not function like the suit in the game, a pair of Redditors have used 3D printing to craft their own Arkham Knight armor.

Wow.

To say that the suit is 3D printed only tells half of the story. There's clearly a leather under-suit keeping everything together, the helmet's LEDs work — and the gun itself is spot-on. Even without hours upon hours of modeling, sizing and printing, that's impressive.

Of course, 3D printers aren't exactly a household item quite yet, but it goes to show just how complex and intricate fan-made costumes can be nowadays. If Hollywood is worried about spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on the new Batman suit, maybe they should just take a cue from the fans instead...

From what we can tell, there's no intention of the model plunging Gotham City into a massive panic in order to take revenge on its greatest hero... but nothing's been confirmed just yet.
