Huawei announced that it is introducing a trio of mid-tier smartphones for the growing mobile market in India. Among these handsets are the Honor 3C, the Ascend G750 and the Ascend G6.

The Honor 3C is touted as Huawei's direct competitor to the popular Moto G, one of the best-selling smartphones in its range to date. The handset, which is priced at Rs 14,000 or somewhere around $250, falls in the phablet category with a 5-inch 720 x 1280 high-definition LTPS (low temperature poly-silicon) display. By comparison, the Moto G retails for Rs 12,999 for the 8 GB version and Rs 13,999 for the 16 GB.

It runs on a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with a Mall 400 GPU and 2 GB of RAM, which many experts find comparable to the Moto G's 1.2 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable storage.

Phone Arena reports the Honor 3C posted some impressive benchmark results, which can serve a match for Google's Nexus 4.

"It would appear that we're looking at the results that the 2 GB RAM version of the Honor 3c can muster, and they are actually pretty much on par with the Nexus 4," based on a report posted by Phone Arena. "That being said, it's worth pointing out that the Mall-400 GPU on the new quad-core from MediaTek - the MT6582 - doesn't quite compare with Adreno 320 on the Nexus 4, though it would appear that the CPU actually offers a slightly more hassle-free browsing experience overall."

The dual-SIM Honor 3C runs on Android Jelly Bean with a layer of Huawei's Emotion UI on top. It features an 8-megapixel rear camera with blue glassfilters, image photography and an image smart engine, as well as a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper with an auto facial enhancement feature.

Also in the phablet category is the 5.5-inch Ascend G750, which costs Rs 24,999. A 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor explains the higher price, as well as 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory expandable through a microSD slot. The Ascend G750 includes a 13-megapixel back camera with BSI and LED Flash and an accompanying 5-megapixel camera for the front. It is available in Pure White and Deep Black.

Last but not the least is the Ascend G6, which Huawei introduced at the Mobile World Congress in December. The Rs 16,999 handset has a 4.5-inch 540 x 960 qHD display and sport features similar to the Honor 3C, including a 1.2 GHz processor, Android Jelly Bean with Emotion on top, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The higher price, however, accounts for a quad-core Qualcomm chipset instead of one from MediaTek.
